#51 pay it yourselves. no one forced you to rack up 250k in debt for useless degree you look at on the wall while getting ready to work as a barista. you should have made smarter choices.
Fina,You've got one of those worthless degrees, don't you? They taught you to say, "Privileged much?" and other pithy things, huh? Not much market for that.
No, not privileged at all really. I worked summers and breaks. My parents helped as much as they could, even sold off stuff and had the utilities cut off at least once (I only found out years later). I went to a "cheap", state school and studied something which actually got me a well paying job.
On second thought, maybe I was privileged because my folks stayed together (didn't really want to), and taught me to make choices that had a reasonable chance at a good outcome. Funny thing is, that isn't privilege at all because anybody can decide to do it.
Louis, how much did you pay for your high school? Nothing? Why exactly should you pay for college or university then? Your system is faulty. You attack the people who got in debt for education, that's plain idiocy. You _should_ attack the people who didn't need to get in debt for education or the system itself for favoring wealthy people to get educated to get jobs that pay well to get even more wealthy.
#51 Great idea. Let's eliminate a debt that is held by overly "educated" entitled rich white kids. Most college debt is held by people who pursued a master's or phd and come from a higher income family. Champagne Socialists
You know, they may actually be doing it already. What happens when you print trillions of dollars without actual economic production to support their value? Answer: inflation. Big time. Carter-years-double-digit-big-time. Six to eight years later, and that debt now only "costs" a small fraction of what it did when incurred. Oh, and gas will be $50/gal.
@Ez, I agree with you. But cancelling student dept, and more importand student fees, would allow to sort out rich-daddy-dumbs according to their marks to make room for brains from all over the whole society. Thus talented students from poorer families geht their chance to contribute, the degrees are upvalued and daddys boy can still live his dream as barrista!

Privileged much?
this isn't very equitable of you. paying only current loans. this just devalues education.
Entitled much?

250k? Worthless degree? Everybody? Are we jumping to conclusions?
You never went to college/university did you?
Bet I know who you voted for.
The guy with a funny hair for sure
