Firstly, you're an @$$ with terrible taste, because the movies were incredible. However, anyone who thinks they're better than the books should just stick to reading trashy romance novels and leave the incredibly well-written material to those who have the capacity to appreciate them.

Speaking of Tolkien, The Hobbit franchise was NOT incredible. Those movies were truly awful and Peter Jackson showed himself to be a hack like Lucas, who's success only depended on listening to smarter people around him. Something he didn't do with the Hobbit, or King Kong. So if you really find his brand of garbage 'good' over the wholesome spirit Tolkien wrote the Hobbit in, it's almost certain you never read it, and are just another popcorn munching moron they were made for.

LOTR is a bad book, it's boring, there are bad folks song and sh#tty hobbit lore all the way deux ex machina is used many times, there are plot holes so huge even your mama would fall in....
The ending is so sh#tty it's not even an ending.

LOTR.... is 6 books, but I haven't read them since just before the first movie came out so my memory could fail me a bit...
The Hobit book was ok, but how the F did he manage to stretch that little book into those movies....
Couldn't even finnish Silmarillion...
