Mercy, I don’t think the clip was intended as anything more than a concept. He wouldn’t drive with the shovel there because of the raised ridge where the handle would normally be would inhibit the ability to move your foot from the gas pedal to the brake. Moving the entire floor mat is a pain because it’s too large. It’s a decent concept but not in its current form.

difference is the floor mat will be soaking wet and full of mud, and yes you can wash but it's easier with a hard plastic box. and who care if it move around as a passenger if you are willing to use it to keep the car cleaner

It looks like the shot is taken from le Pont d'Iéna. It doesn't go under the tower, but the turn is below the view from the bridge so you can't see it from this angle. Convince yourself with google maps street view if you want.
