Oddly refreshing to see a list of things without any associated judgement either way.

Almost all of this (except babies outside, the window blinds and outlets) applies to Portugal. And many apply to every other european country.

Georgia,

What does that even mean?
Better yet, why would you even care?
Maybe you should get a hobby if you fill your whole life with getting angry about what someone thinks or does that doesn't hurt anyone.
I hear stamp collecting is nice.

Blinds outside of windows sound like a very stupid idea. So wind doesn't exist in Europe?

Al 2 year s ago
Ansel,

Rails/guides for those solve most of the wind problem. Kinda had to see, but those white things at the bottom of the window look like end of a rope/wire guide for the shade.

If your windows are facing south then you get a metric f-ton of unwanted heat in the summer, heat you would be better off reflecting before it gets into the window as air conditioning (hot to cold) is not as common in Northern Europe as elsewhere or as needed most of the year. So it might be smarter to avoid heating up insides of the flat, instead of spending power on cooling it with an AC you only use like 1month a year.

we also have a lot of these in Germany.
#2 they have to its the law. for crosswalks, it's a bit different on a per-country basis like in Germany you have to stop.
#4 it's not just 2 duvets it's also often 2 mattresses.
#7 same in Germany.
#8 not just buttles but also cans. there are even bottles that are meant to be returned for a refill.
#10 same here.
#11 same here most people just don't because Germans generally prefer carbonated. so if you go to eat in Germany and as for water you will most likely get carbonated bottled water if you want tap you have to ask for it specifically.
#12 as it should be fight me.
#13 not sure about gender-specific but they will reject names that are random bullsh#t like syntax error or whatever Musk named his son.
#14 usually means it non-treated milk that you need to keep cool. you can usually get treated milk but it's not in the refrigerated section since there is no need to keep it cool while unopend. and the reason why you can't get jugs is because of
#15 it's common to do your shopping for just a week some even shop for the day like my grandma she goes shopping every morning and only buys what she need for the day.
#17 that is unusual?
#19 Europeans do it's not that hard really. we have many learn them love them seriously so much faster than stoplights.
#23 all hail the Shuko typ-f.

That's common in Europe, not only in Norway. But we normally don't use 'blinds', we use "Rolladen" (shutters).

So... This list is very disturbing. In California they sold Milk that way too, when I was there in 2005. Every car stopped ad red lights and crossings, back in that days. And I think it shout be normal, not to name your daughter Bruce.

Cornelia,
And roundabouts are way more efficient than intersections with traffic lights.
When road engineers in the US started to consider roundabouts the traffic light factories started to corrupt politicians to prevent loss of orders. That's why roundabouts are so uncommon in the US.

#13 The rule is that you cannot choose a name that will be a burden for the child (like other kids won't be able to make fun of any name if they want to). Some names (like Kim) are used for both boys and girls. But yeah, no stupid stuff.

#19 It's not that hard. It is just like a regular road with right of way (that happens to be very short and going in a circle) with other roads leading into it. It is only once you start making "simplifications" like "yield for those to your left" that it gets confusing.

#23 you should be glad they are not the same. Your 110V equipment would be fried by the 230V current, and the 50Hz to your 60Hz might also cause issues.
