So you can only take the exam once but if you don't pass you have to wait until the next year to take it again?

In the US, at least in my state, you can take it 4 times and they take the best scores from each section and aggregate them into one score. So if you do well on Math on one test and well on Science on another test they combine them. We are getting dumber.
