Stupidity is never innocent. Think about it. They are in your country now. Feed by media without moral value. they see nothing wrong in this situation. You are a media. You have some rsponsabilities.
Lurana, He stopped on HIS side off the road and the idiot car driver just cut the corner! Get your motorcycle license and drive around for a bit and you will see how much stupidity there is among the drivers and their inability to see motorcycles (or for driving at all for that matter). And before you ask.. I have been riding motorbikes for the last 31 years so i now what I am talking about...
Rube, as I do fully understand you I have to say that there are cars with a massive A-pillar which even hides other cars! This can actually happen without any stupidity involved.
It's a little sad that you are driving a motorcycle for 31 years now and still can't put yourself into somebody elses position. Unfortunately that's the case for most two wheeled traffic participants. I am driving daily with my bike to work for years now (through the city) and I could have run over a couple of times but I just avoid it in thinking for the others ... not a big deal!
One of the picdumps has a pic that show what is actually required to make fire effective (assuming you want the job done quickly). It's a train engine clearing track by pointing friggin jet engines that are mounted on the front at the ground. That's what it takes cuz snow is an excellent insulant.

There is arguing about if the car saw him or not, though. My guess is he didn't because of a huge a-pillar.
