I've heard that too about these but that's probably not true because breaking a piece of steel by manpower is not really possible.

i would think it depends on the sword, a cheep sword might have more carbon in it and make it brittle or not enough so the sword would bend if it came in contact with that parrying dagger plus that dagger can trap a sword blade making it possible for the user to pull the blade from the opponents grasp
