Irvin,

True. But we can all try a little bit in our own way to make it a bit better. And that adds up. It may be a drop each time. But what is a tsunami but a lot of drops of water moving as one?

Ode,

David Beasley, chief of UN World Food program - an organization with a yearly budget of about 8Billion $, said, clickbaitingly, that 2% of the Musk's wealth, about 6bill.$, would "end world-hunger" in some newspaper article.

He was rightly called out on it by both Musk and others, who asked for a detailed plan on how a not even doubling of their yearly budget would remove the problem of hunger entirely.

Turns out, while it would feed about 42million people for a year, it would not by any means "end hunger".

Alicia,
Hunger is a foo distribution problem, not a food amount problem. There is plenty of food for everyone and much of it is simply thrown away rather than given away.

Anastasia,

Well, I wouldn't declare any European country as a socialist country, maybe we are not really pure capitalist countries but absoloutely not Socialists.

But we all have nearly free health care (e.g. in Germany we have only to pay parking fees and 10,-€ per day for a hospital, (limited to 280,-€ per year)
Most medications (all subcriptions) are limited to 5,- € per pack.

We have at least 25 mostly 30 days payd holidays, sick days are payd and do not cover your payd holidays.

And so on (please don't make me point out the differences between the German and the US elections system, you might eat your pillow, if I show you the lacks of american democracy dirol )

Odo,

If you do not succeed in America's Capitalist Economy then reflect on yourself. And not what the others and government should do for you or change for you. How many places in the world can you land as an adult, work hard, become successful for yourself and your children without knowing the language? America is probably the only one or one of the very few.

Martin,

No. In just about every country people can and do work hard to build their own business. And you usually need to learn the local language anywhere. Especially in America to, you know communicate with customers, suppliers, local government for permits, etc.

But in any case that will not guarantee you will succeed though. Starting a business is always risky, usually requires a good chunk of money to start which you might lose if it fails, and requires time. All things people can't always afford because family, bills, or debts.
And some groups of the population have it harder to succeed because they, for example, grow up in a neighbourhood with bad schools and few job opportunities.
In short; It's not that simple.

80% of these are issues of over-regulation. 15% is people confusing value, money, and wealth. The others are just bad management.

As a country, you can only deal with the first. The other two never go away because there will always be idiots and authoritarians.

#8 From The West Wing: "The second pill cost 'em four cents; the first pill cost 'em four hundred million dollars. If you want to step up and buy the first pill I'm sure they won't have a problem bringing down the costs."

If you don't reward the guy who created the product, there is no product AND no job.
