If all 27 million registered vehicles in CA were to be all-electric - what would happen when everyone decides it's time recharge? Typical home fast-charger draws 15 kW. That's a demand of 405,000 megawatts. To meet that demand with "green" windmills, CA would need around 53,000 square miles of wind farms - about 1/3 of their land area with over 1 million windmills.

Jimmy, That is only a theoretical problem. People don't need to charge their cars at maximum capacity all at the same time. Typically they will plug in at night and trickle charge overnight while electricity consumption is low. Just look to Norway. They figured this out long time ago and have no problems like what you describe.
