all electrical circuits have to be Earthed (or grounded) to protect people. this generally mean that you use the yellow/green wire on all your appliance, and in the main board this will connect outside directly to ground. in that video they took a little earth to bring it to the main panel, i sure hope it's a joke as what they did is not enough to protect the building in case of electrocution.
