"Hollywood Walk of Fame. It’s a sidewalk and outside of maybe big events where they may clean the ones around where photos may be taken, it otherwise is just covered in dirt from people’s shoes and some are barely legible because they haven’t been cleaned in ages."
"Haha this is the answer for sure, every time I’m in LA and someone wants to go I’m like: “Look, whatever’s in your head, keep that image, it’s just better, I promise”."
however; The Mauermuseum, (on the left) is very interesting: It has the stories of how people crossed the border. Some very ingenious methods there.
These are, of course, stories of people who escaped East Germany, over the wall, illegal. It shows some of the attributes used to escape, and stories of the people that helped them. It's amazing to see the sheer will and ingenuity of people when held against their will. would recommend. 10/10
(like: next to the Brandenburger Tor are monuments with the number of people that died trying to cross the wall, each year it existed. One of the stories in the museum tells of one man who helped more people across than the total number of deaths combined. very impressive!)
Eiffel Tower and Paris in general - horrible city, arrogant people
#4 history teacher can confirm it's literally a rock they found and it gets moved every so many years.
Another worthless visit is the Crazy Horse statue. But the history is interesting, the founder's family is still scamming people to this day by never planning to finish this.
It's better to look up the little less known but at least as amazing places and go there. Everyone knows Stonehenge. But it's right next to a busy road, you can't get very close but walk around it on industrial plates and it's crowded by tourists
With the one in Avebury you can actually wander among the stones.
The Mona Lisa is a tiny painting in a crowded room, but the rest of the Louvre has a huge collection of treasures a lot more interesting you can see in relative peace.
Also talk to locals and seasoned travellers. A lot of times hotel or youth hostel employees know the unknown gems.
Always go off the beaten path.
