#1 That's because he's one of those rare actors who do it because they just like acting, and taking on interesting and challenging roles. An actor for whom becoming rich and famous was just a bonus.
#10 Donald has always been a notable actor. That pic on the left is from M.A.S.H. I find it sad that kids don't know his name.
#13 He had many successful roles before Big Lebowski. The Dude has just become his most iconic.
Many of these actors didn't really find their footing until later. In other words, until they had some experience under their belts, they weren't any good.
