People always have and will always continue to judge, shame, and hate on those who are different, or have different opinios. It's human nature.
Kids today don't realize how offensive they themselves actually are. They separate people into broad groups and give them "undesirable" qualities to hate on, like boomers or Karens, which is the literal definition of bigotry. They cancel and shame people left and right, while preaching individualism and self expression at the same time. #2 is a prime example.
I'm from a time that doesn't get offended by anything, so I couldn't care less. I just enjoy pointing out the hypocritical stupidity of young people in the hopes that I offend them.

Sibbell,

There was no such time. People got always offended easily. Just look how 'life of Brian' was canceled. Or how people got offended by people of the same gender kissing. Or by black and white people kissing. Or by sex before marriage. Or by rock and roll music. Or by hippies.

Ray,

That's the Baby Boomer generation. I'm GenX. We're not offended by any of that sh#t. We grew up in an age of tolerance, but we also got to enjoy Dr. Suess, laugh at Blazing Saddles, and listen to 2 Live Crew.

Mindie, Sorry, Grasshopper, but hippies, sex before marriage, etc., IS the "Baby Boomer" generation. You aren't GenX - you're GenZero.

Sibbell,

"I just enjoy pointing out the hypocritical stupidity of young people..."
That seems an awful lot like judging, hating, and shaming those that are different and have a different opinion than you to me.
The only difference here of course thay you justify to yourself that if you do it, it's ok because (fill in your excuses here) just like they do.
THAT is the only thing that never changes.

Humans have the capacity to justify everything, from a small crime like stealing a piece of candy to genocide.
We have to guard ourselves against that. And it's an easy thing to trip over. One that I stumbled over as well from time to time like all of us.
The best way to know if you're actually the bastard that is in the wrong is pretty simple.

Ask yourself when doing something questions like these:
Would I like it if someone made that kind of joke that I know hurts him a little about me? Would I like it if someone took that apple from me?
Would I like it if someone condemned me for being a Christian? Or a heterosexual?

In other words, follow the Golden Rule which most cultures around the world have used.
Do unto others as you would have them do unto you.
