#40 that is because in the past those people just died. they were weak their families were weak and they didn't survive the winter. Sometimes i feel we should go back to that.

Wrong. They would die horrrible slow deaths as full grown adults from starvation when their absorbing celia are all removed... but also, gluten wasn't as free range in coarse ground wheat products, and would pass through more easily than the refined gluten pastes we have now.

#40 In defense of Ceiliacs... for 5000 years they suffered and just called it rotten guts. On the other hand, it is a very rare disease, and tummy troubles from gluten free products runs high because of gums used in replacement. Gluten free is very unhealthy for normal digetive tracts. Gluten DOES NOT ABSORB into humans and CANT MAKE YOU FAT.
