The wording is very scattered. They meant that their son means the world to them because he overcomes his struggles and is happy. The authors' childhood hero meeting his current hero. Nothing wrong there. He probably set up that meeting for their son.

#12 that's kind of him. But if he was doing it solely out of kindness, then posting his 'virtue' on social media wasn't necessary. It diminishes the kindness of his act. It is now virtue signaling. Just be his friend because he's a friend.
