Very cool stuff. But the info coming out from the mainstream media is really uninformed. A lot of people excited for the first images, understandably. But this is not a telescope designed for visual, it's for infrared. Unfortunately they need to put out pics for the public to satisfy our desire for cool pics. But that's what the hubble is designed for. The webb does IR and does it amazingly well. To give us pics to ohh and ahh at they have to show us false color images (which hubble does often as well). Also nearly all the images we've seen have been imaged before by hubble and other scopes, so it's a lot of excitement over cool pics that the media isn't pointing out that we've mostly seen before. I wish they could focus more on doing their sciency job and less worry on trying to satisfy the public. I am the happiest with #11 where they point out the MUCH shorter integration time needed due to webb's much larger primary mirror. FYI I do astrophotography myself in my observatory, so regardless of my nitpicking I'm happy to see astronomy in the news.

Would've love more space pics and less random unfunny tweetage.
