At one point they would be distracting, at least for me. Especially if it's about things like constantly changing in either wet and dry clothes in a scene.
Most movies and shows avoid these continuation errors by simply having someone take a few pics after a scene and keep track of it. Not really too much trouble I'd think. They spend enough on detail to make it look like the 80's. Why not spend a little more and make it all look right?
