Prudence,

True, but humanity have managed to make it change faster than it normally does due to fossile fuels.

Elijah, The U.S. has reduced the aggregate emissions of the six “criteria pollutants” listed in the Clean Air Act by 77% since 1970. These improvements have come as U.S. GDP has nearly tripled and energy consumption, primarily from fossil fuels, has grown by 48%. The WHO reports that U.S. cities have lower densities of particulate matter than most cities across the world. In fact, our ambient air pollution levels are so low as to be near natural levels!

I’m quite sure Europe has done as well if not better. Until China and India take equal measures the air will remain polluted.

That is the problem that I have always had with people who walk their dogs. The people are mostly wearing shoes to protect their feet from the rough hot road but make their dogs walk on the rough hot road. You should always let your dog walk on the grass or ground next to the road; it is better for the dog.

Nels,

Sure! Please tell me how to conduct a scientific research study with an few million dollars of neccesary equipment on a normal salary.
I think your definition of "do your own research" is watching Conspiracy YouTube vids, infowars, and 8chan posts...

#21. They do that to supply electricity so you can cool your home down. I do belive the infrastructure needs to change, but it wont until dumb people who claim windmills and solar panels are deadly finally dies off (usually 50+, because us 40 year olds know better.

Woody,

54 years old here.
Exactly on my 18th birtday (maturity in Germany) "happened" the Tchernobyl desaster.
Believe me, I like solar panels, windmills and hydroelectric very much.
But the atomic, coal, fuel and gas Mafias have been corrupting the politics (up to the former chancellor Gerhard Schröder, who is actually "on holiday" in Moscow to have the segs with Putin).
If that money, that they have been putting into the help for atomic power stations or in the low coal price whould have been in research or protection for the renewable energies, Europe wouldn't have an energy crisis now.
