Fanny,

Well, it IS a thing. Just not actually leaving your body. But more the sensation of it which normally people can't just make happen at will but they happen during surgeries, accidents, etc.
It's a state of the brain in a way. Something that appears to have a mystical side but probably doesn't like Sleep Paralysis or Lucid Dreaming.
She can apparently do it when she wants which is not impossible I suppose since you can make yourself Lucid Dream as well.
