I don't understand this. Why would they redesign classic cartoon characters like #1 and #2? The new ones (and #4) are horrendous.

These are the results of the college education system not teaching basics. A good recognizable icon that has had three things changed in it no longer is the same (even according to copyright riles). That's why the Charlie brown movie was a hit... they followed ALL the rules of the original artist.
