#2 Ever see those old-timey phones in old movies with the hand-crank-thingy? The lines were never "closed" and the noise it made was to get the attention of the operator on the other end who was always listening in at the switchboard.
Later, the hang-up hook was developed on order to close the line, but there was still no dial, so they would pick up the receiver and click the hang-up hook several times to get the operator's attention.

To very young children boobs were where they got fed, so they equate boobs with happy times. So would that be a learned response?
