#5. Is it because of the gif frame or perhaps an optical illusion due to terrain. I can tell the blade is moving at a constant rate, but the shadow appears to slow down at the top then speed up on the bottom motion.

The tips of the blade rotate faster because they have to travel farther for every revolution. Because of the way the gif is cropped you end up comparing speed at different lengths of the blades.
