Honestly, some of these are wrong:
1. Logistics are way better in SEVERAL other countries, e.g. Japan, Germany, etc.
2. Civil engineering is pure sh#t in the US. Just filling everything up with concrete is medieval engineering. Of course, if you compare it to the UK or South Africa... Again: Visit Germany. Or the Netherlands.
Pink,
1. No you are wrong. Visit California. when you compare apples and oranges please think about what you are comparing the US you need to compare it to Europe. Not just pick out your best infrastructure country to the whole of the US. Cause then I would Say California which is on Par with Germany. Lets compare all of southern or Eastern Europe to the US and then we would have a wholly different conversation.
2. and as far as civil engineering read the same above...
3. Yea we are fatter :) but youre catching up quick..
Kenna,
when talking about a countries' infrastructure you should not compare a country with single states. I know, it's hard to Inderstand, but Europe isn't a country (Asia either; Japan and Germany are).
You want a prove: do a web search for "logistics performance index".
Btw: Four of the Top10 logistic companies in the US are European (e.g. Kuehne & Nagel, DHL).
All you America haters-
Remember that these were all written by non-Americans, so if they're wrong, that's not our fault.
Also- quite being so jealous, would ya?
Lavonia,
The US has the highest number of immigrants (foreign-born residents) than any other country in the world, at 50.6 million.
That's more than three times as much as the next highest- Germany, with 15.8 million.
People all over the world want to come here. Jealous?
Aileen,
Yeah no, people aren’t jealous. Why the hell immigration has to do with jealousy anyway ?. Can’t you see There’s nothing to be jealous about?. I know that most Americans never leave USA or even cross the border of the state they live in, so they know nothing of the world, but wow!; some of you guys are seriously deluded , thinking that the world envy you.
I lived and worked I’m many country’s but USA is the only one that I never wanted to go. Not because I don’t like it ( I do like it, actually ), but because life is better somewhere else for many reasons. Healthcare, education and above all, security. No need for kids to wear a bullet proof backpack in Europe. They can safely go to school on their own!. Honestly mate, it’s kinda sad that you guys do not envy that.
Calvin,
The term "America" refers to the U.S. If you're interested in referencing all of North, South, and Central America, you would use the term "the Americas," plural.
Nobody in the world says America and doesn't specifically mean the U.S. Not even you.
Sig,
Yeah, the owner does, which would technically make it a "courtesy" toilet, which implies generosity.
But it seems pretty f@#kin' stupid to argue semantics about a toilet that we can sh#t in for free, while you all have to pay.
Kenna,
when it comes to civil engineering, it's more complicated, of course. Some of the best in this field are American, but unfortunately, they are operating more frequently in foreign countries (e.g. William Baker).
Moreover, you should look up some examples for coastal engineering (Netherlands, Japan), earthquake engineering (Japan), tunnel engineering (Switzerland). The 5 longest bridges in the world are in China and Taiwan btw
"Say what you want about America, their entertainment industry is amazing. They excel in all categories of entertainment; Electronic gaming, Sports (except soccer), Adult, Music, etc. I don’t know about theatre, I’m not qualified for that."
