Abednego,
If he is then he has still done more for the world than you and everyone you know and everyone in your family has ever done, multiplied by a million. All you can do is make fun of people who actually put their money where their mouth is.

Reynold,
im sorry did you just assume he "did" anything? all he did was collect money off the backs of workers and customers who never recycled his trash he created and threw money at the problem to "solve" it. i don't see what exactly was done at all.

Midge,

Building up any business, big or small, requires investment the worker doesn't have to do. Anyone starting a business needs to gamble on a pretty big sum of money they might very well have to borrow and lose. It also requires almost round the clock attention of time. Most business owners don't get weekends off or go on holiday at least the first few years.
The worker can clock out after 8 hours and doesn't have to think of work. And we all have known enough colleagues that don't care about their work at all or even actively sabotage it.
That's the difference.
There's a reason why only a few get successful in business.
If owning a 3 billion dollar business was just starting it up, sitting on your @$$, and get rich while the employees did everything, you would have done that too.

Reynold, he’s going to be really disappointed when he finds out that we are in a cyclical change and there is NOTHING mankind can do about it.

Dom,

No proof whatsoever of your "cyclical change". No scientist says that. Just a stupid reasoning to "prove" we are not the cause and therefore don't have to do anything.

This "cyclical change" nonsense is based on nothing more than the faulty reasoning that since there was an ice age the earth must have heated up and we must therefore be still in that heating up phase that flared up coincidentally after we've been pumping loads of cr#p in the atmosphere for more than a century.

And he probably knows that. Something tells me that someone that is capable of building up a business worth 3 billion is pretty smart, does his research, and gets informed from sources at every viewpoint.

And I agree with Reynolds that he actually TRIES to make the world a better place with action.

Deborah, "...since there was an ice age..."
There has occurred more than one ice age in the history of the planet. A number of them. A succession of them. Enough of them that science has bequeathed them individual names to differentiate among them when referencing them. Repetitive conditions can be regarded cyclic, and this is not nonsense.

You are attempting to argue a position with both feet planted firmly in mid-air.

Do not construe my remarks as supporting that humans have not had an effect on global conditions. They are, instead, a caution that you are woefully in need of science education.

Don't you find it interesting that, due to the waters receding, whole villages are coming to light?
It appears we could be going back to "normal" levels or at least levels which had previously been normal.

Think of how much $$$ will be siphoned-off into side-projects with no accountability.
I suppose it's easy to give away 3 billion when you're worth 1.2 billion.
