#2 ... those steamer trunks were manufactured like that. I've had a few in my shop when I was selling antiques. Some only had a few drawers and some of the fancier ones were covered in leather rather than the typical shellacked green canvas.

#8 It might be 400 years old but I question if it was abandoned for 400 years. There should be more growth and infiltration of other plants. 50-80 years sometime around WW2 it stopped being cut.
