Sorry, but greed is not only a capitalist problem, but one that plagues all societies throughout all of history. Capitalism is merely a political-economical model. Greed most certainly plagued Communist societies, et al. Unchecked greed is the problem.

In a capitalist economy, you can just ignore these companies and go to their competitors. If they lose enough business, they change their practices.
In a controlled economy, you have no choices - kinda like every store being the DMV.
