#4 Egyptian artifacts are in European museums for two reasons:
1) Europeans had archeologists who went and dug them up, Egypt only had grave robbers the sand that covered them up.
2) The Egyptian grave robbers sold the artifacts they got on the black market, and they ended up in European museums.

#24 That's not just a hispanic thing. I grew up in the midwest and we had the same issue. Though the butter tub was usually leftovers and the cookie tin was usually the sewing kit.
