Laveda, As someone who played high school football, you are wrong. You are not thinking sensibly. There were a number of times when I was playing football where I got hit so hard that I was seeing stars - and I'm not a small guy. Had the same thing happened to these girls I can assure you they would have been carried off the field on a stretcher. There are players that look for opportunity to inflict pain (within the rules) - so Ronald is absolutely right - it's definitely not a sport for girls. Women are just not built like we are (and that's a good thing). As a father I can tell you that encouraging your girl to play football with the boys is very stupid.

The standard physiological differences between men and women are not that big. Most guys on football teams are selected because they are big. And train a lot to be bigger and muscled to boot. Most guys are not suitable for football either. More than enough skinny guys for example. There are enough women fighting in kickboxing for example that can kick almost any guy for example.
Absolutely no reason why the right woman, or a lot of women for that matter with the right training and exercise can't hold their own.

Deborah, Sir Isaac Newton always wins. They will do fine until they are in an advanced enough league that every player on the other team has the mass and power to bounce them into next Tuesday. Sure they could be kickers or maybe wide receivers - largely non-contact positions but again, some day they are going to get broken. And female athletes in other contact sports don't play against men either, no matter what you want to think to the contrary. Don't be a fool.
