#18 - just because it's legal or allowed doesn't mean anyone does it. There are many old laws on the books that just never got removed - like "In Arizona, you could face legal recourse if you let your donkey sleep in a bathtub." However, the fact that it is legal in California does explain a lot about their political leanings...

#18 In defense of Alaska, we don't need laws about it. EVERY cultural group I have lived in has internal practices that specifically aim at knowing bloodlines and avoiding 1st cousin marriage. We don't like making laws for stupid stuff that doesn't need to be said.
