-Wave your arms
-Speak to it calmly
-Drop an item to distract it
-Walk away

-Don’t climb a tree. Black bears are excellent climbers
-Hold your ground
-Spray it with bear mace…that you likely won’t have
-Use anything you’ve got as a weapon. Rocks, sticks, fists, even your teeth! Be sure to aim for the snout and eyes.

Things to Do:
-Wave your arms
-Maintain eye contact
-Slowly back away

Things to Do:
Look for signs that the moose may charge – stomping its feet with its ears back.

-Run away!
-Take cover! Behind a tree, a rock, a chubby friend…anything!
-Curl into a ball and protect your head

Things to Do:
-Slowly back away
-Climb a tree that’s at least 13 feet tall

-Yeet that sum b#tch!

If it Attacks and You Are NOT The Incredible Hulk:
-Hit the ground! Lay face down, spread your legs and cover the back of your neck with your hands.
-Use that bear mace you don’t have. Man, I’ve got to get some bear mace.
-Play dead! Grizzlies will often stop attacking if they feel you are no longer a threat. Be sure to keep playing dead for a while as grizzlies are known to hang around to see if you get back up.

-Stay calm and don’t make any sudden movements
