This is why the more correct term is climate change and not global warming.
And here is the kicker, that one degree average has lead to more extreme weather, so this is a direct result of "global warming".

The weather has not become more extreme. The reporting on weather has become extreme, but not the weather itself.
There is nothing dangerous or catastrophic about the temperature rising a degree or two. It would actually improve life on earth as warmer climates allow life to flourish.
