It depends on if I actually own a cat or not. If it's my cat just pet it and keep going with my day. If I don't have a cat then it gets more complicated...

Dogs are great.
Cats are cool.
Squirrels and Raccoons are fun but can climb and have hands.
All rodents are OK, as caged pets, if you're willing to put up with them.
Guess that applies to all of the above.
But #6 grabs my heart because I had a black cat named Boo who died of old age in my arms.
