Rilly,

The issue with climate change is that the day the climate completely stops changing, then and only then, are we in big trouble. shoot

#1 I don't see anything wrong with any if these. Just because some of those did well doesn't mean they weren't completely overhyped. The iPhone isn't as great as supporters think it is. I am a diehard Nintendo fan and loved my Wii but it was hardly the gaming revolution it was touted as at the time (Revolution was even the code name before the official Wii, was announced.) It didn't even impact the next generation and while some games still offer minor motion controll its not really front and center anymore.
Facebook died off quick after everyone was allowed on and it stopped being for college kids.

HD never really gained a foothold against blu-ray.

Everything else on here other that Spore, which was actually a huge disappointment and really was overrated, I don't know well enough and can't comment on so I'm guessing it's spot on.

Scott,

They are not talking about HD-DVD, it is about HD as in 1080p for screens - which is old news already, and Ultra HD (4k) did became the standard, for TVs at least. So if anything they are not wrong, but rather entirely correct on that front.

They are not wrong about nr 10, 9, 8, 4, 2. But completely off the mark on nr7, 5, 3. One could argue about nr1 the Iphone, they are not saying that "smartphone" as a concept is garbage, just that One particular smartphone was so overhyped that there was Nothing that could be released (at the time) that would have lived up to the hype.
