Except for the color of the character, if you put a cowboy hat/sombrero/computer gear or ANY cultural clothing on him the message is exactly the same. The ACCURACY isn't race, it's a description of how language changes. Now I've explained the joke.

Can't tell if sarcastic, or misinformed, because it isn't called school spirit. Also, "esprit" is French, and "escuela" is Spanish, which just makes your comment even more strange.
