When the Great Depression began, the U.S.A. was being run by president Herbert Hoover. Hoover said in March of 1930 that the economy would sort itself out and that they have “passed the worst.” Sadly, it was only the beginning, and things would not start to get better until 1939, when WWII started to break out.
