#1 This is just bad photo editing, and it's not at all how physics works. Once the water inside begins to crystalize, it expands and pushes the carbonation out into the liquid that hasn't yet frozen, This creates too much pressure for the can to hold, and it explodes before all of the liquid can completely freeze. The result is a huge mess in your freezer, not some lovely spiral.

You can see how the can expanded at both ends ... maybe the can was pierced before being put in the freezer.
