You got downvoted for writing that, but it's still true for most animal companions. Last year I was adopted by a street cat, and that cat is sleeping on my bed as I type this. Were I to die right now he might be a bit upset, and he might miss me, but he would not die, too. When my dog was still alive the same was true for her. She would have been pretty bummed out had I died, but she would not have given up on living. Animals that need a special controlled environment, like fish, are a lot closer to depending on humans completely, but even they could make it if they were to be released into the right environment.

it's only dependent because humans rip animal families apart and they'll never see their siblings or parents again. Get locked in a house constantly with another species who's activities make no sense to you.
