Star Wars: after Episode 4, 5 and 6 there was so much potential for a prequel and a sequel but nobody made them, so sad.

#17 Alita should have been planned for a two or three movie series before they released the first one. Regardless if it did any good at the box office. Budget for a series or have a full story arc in one movie. It did end on a cliffhanger. Does Alita ever go to Zalam. When she gets there does she find that Nova is a 300 year old AI. Ed Norton at the end was just one of it humans it uses. Questions that will never have answers.

#10 Just watch Chappie. It's pretty much the exact same movie, but with robots. He even turns into one at the end.

Suzanne,

No, they are not the same movie any more than two musicals are the same movies. It's just that both are dystopic South Africa, with a gritty feel.

Many of these are amazing because they are unique... although I would like to see the Space balls 3, and Tucker and Dale vs "good"

Most of these, if not all, are best as stand alone movies. Far to many sequels get made that are terrible, and ruin the franchise. Far too many.

#6 Master and Commander was supposed to have sequels, but it was so boring and awful they didn't do any others. There are 21 books in the series.

"I’ve a massive soft spot for Constantine, not the best but also not the worst. Just think the whole concept was really interesting and lots of info to explore further."

"Keanu Reeves has said that not being able to get a sequel off the ground is one of the biggest regrets in his career and that he would love to do another."
