#45 they are right, you start with 1. There was no year 0, AD started with 1. Each decades goes 1-0, 2001 was the first year of the new millennium, TECHNICALLY. But popularly, nobody but pedants and super-critical historians bother with that, and everyone goes with 0-9 instead.
