I have a Chinese friend and I can tell a lot of the translation issue is the direct word-to-word replacement. They use a different sentence structure so words seem out of order. And they add extra comment words like "yes" at the end of a sentence to pose a question because the language uses tones for word meaning not sentence meaning.
