Hey izi team, ever 3rd pic is an ad now. Is that on purpose? I’ll stop visiting your site if it stays like that, it’s simply too annoying. I don’t mind a few adds here and there but a picdump of 50 pics with 20 ads in between is overkill

Tave and those who use adblockers.

It will work exactly until we can't cover our expenses to run the website: servers, salary and so on. Then boom and no izismile.

We publish 400 pictures, 60+ gifs and many videos for you. Every single day. For free.

In turn we ask you to disable adblockers or at least consider this option. It will greatly help and motivate us to deliver the best possible content.

The site's speed with ads on is really fast and there are not to much ad units. We do our best to balance.

Thanks.

admin,

I like izi, but your premise relies on loyalty, which died with the first viral internet content. Then it became all about the latest and greatest content.
Therefore, harvesting imagery and being an aggregator site will always incur a degree of adblock from regular visitors.

My motivation is disdain for bullsh#t scams, meaning that I smash the ads and close the pop-ups to cost those companies money rather than enrich Izi - so if you make it about disadvantaging/punishing the uncouth ads (like 'cosmetic botox' currently on my screen without adblock), I will turn adblock off.

Con, I totally get your point and mostly agree. We don't use bad ad practices like pop-ups, pop-unders, redirects and other scams. Our display and video ads are clean, safe and family friendly.

On the other hand, re: bad ads (fungus nails, yellow teeths, belly fat etc.). They are coming from MGID and located below content. Again, I agree the problem persists. It's not acceptable to ask for an adblock disabling and run those ads. I'm figuring out how to get rid of them or at least replace with clean ads. Give me two weeks to resolve this. This is the right way to follow and it will be done.

We are heavily dependent on advertising revenue. One regular visitor who browse the site everyday without an adblocker on brings around 30 cents a month or just about 1 cent a day. At the same time, 25% of the visitors have adblock on. As you see it's not about being rich or get a fortune running izismile rather being able to continue our work and have something to live on.

admin,
Sounds good. Happy to support that way. Coming back to the original question - are you also working on reducing them? Just came back to read some new posts and I gave up as it is still an ad after every 3rd pic. It’s s taking the joy out of it.

Ada,

It's fixed just now. Had to purge the website's cache. When you counted them previously, they went like this 3-2-3-2-3... Now in-content banners render after each fourth image on a mobile page. Making it a total of 7 ad units per page with 30 pics inside. Hopefully, this helps.
P.S. If you still see redundant ads try to reset izismile cookies and cache in your mobile browser.
