#6 Nice try. It would take days to charge an electric car with just those solar panels.

Chet,
Still investing in fossil fuels, are you? The panels charge a battery or bank of batteries, and those charge the vehicles. But then you knew that before you laid your misinformative comment on people you hoped would be easily fooled, didn't you?

Floyd,

I guarantee you that the charging stations are connected to the electrical grid. I have also seen them hooked up to a diesel generator. It's a feel-good look but not really practical.

Chet,
The connections to the grid are called "backup". Seems like a sensible idea, doesn't it? I'm connected to the grid, but I have a generator for when the grid goes down, which it does often enough to make the generator purchase a sensible expenditure.

Floyd,

I've done the math. It would take about 2,000 square-feet (186 sq-meter) of solar panels to charge a single Tesla from 10% to 90% in 3 hours - under ideal conditions.

gratuitous comment on a meme showing my gaming chair expertise and superior intelligence in a field of something or other that I have zero knowledge in, am willing to argue about over the next 72 hours, with total strangers I'll never meet or have an impact in their life, but still feel a need to be morally ethically and socially superior to them.
