The company was founded by Ransom Olds in 1891 and existed until 2004. In 1901, the first budget automobile, the Curved Dash, was released. In the 1990s, the company faced a crisis and ceased to produce vehicles of its own design, instead focusing on rebranding other divisions of General Motors.
