it's a map from the eastern part of Germany, the DDR
In the communist part was it also forbidden to watch Western TV or listen to western Radio stations. They had a in-country agency the StaSi (Staatssicherheit) that can be compared to the NSA or GCHQ
If s/o tried to flee over the border to West Germany (the BRD) he was instantly shot at the border by eastern soldiers.

Good thing, those days are over

Lonzo,

A LOT more people made it across the border than there were shot. Near the Brandenburger Tor there's a fence with the number of people shot each year the wall was up. It's around 150 people.

The Mauer museum near checkpoint Charlie reports of a man who stopped smuggling people in his car after he got the 1000th (!) person over the border.

The Mauer Museum is a testament to the ingenuity of people when held against their will. Go and visit when you're in Berlin.

#19 and some people still believe this today.... 35

Granted, most flat earthers are probably (hopefully!) just trolling and/or making money on their views on YouTube and such, but some dimwits actually still believe the earth is flat.....
