"When I was young, TV would ‘come off’ at 12am: you’d be notified that this programming is done for the day, there would be a recording of the National Anthem then you would get a B&W test screen until 5-6am the next day.
Also, my local 10pm news program would start every broadcast with this: “it’s now 10pm on the East Coast. Do you know where your children are?’"
"I’m 37 and I have this core memory. Just as soon as Twilight Zone or Tales From the Crypt ended depending on which of the 4 networks I was watching."

I remember this as well. Also when the evening news was over Mash was on. As soon as the opening theme with the helicopters came on we knew it was bed time.
Got it for Christmas when I was 7. Good times were had.
Yep! I remember sitting in the den waiting the video to premiere. I had the LP and the "The Making of Thriller" on VHS. Directed by John Landis!
I remember cars, before seat belts were required, when only luxury cars had shoulder belts, but they were optional.
My uncle had a GTO with no belts, just an 'oh sh#t bar' on the passenger dash
