The only hills behind the Hollywood sign are the Verdugo Hills -- which are no higher than the Hollywood Hills -- and the San Gabriel Mountains, and the San Gabriels are nowhere near the size shown in the photo. Check it out on Google Maps, or just take my word for it -- I've lived here all my life and I've been on every set of hills or mountains you'll see in the Google Maps view.
