Work-related stress is an acceptable reason for Danes to take sick leave.
I can think of 10 acquaintances who have gone on sick leave in the last three years because of stress. Danish people state heart palpitations, headaches, and poor sleep as the reasons for their decision. And managers working on tight deadlines aren’t the only ones stressed. A guy from a neighboring department, who didn’t put much effort into his work, stayed at home with a rapid heartbeat for two months because he couldn’t finish a simple task.
In Norway, they make jelly beans in the form of female and male figures.
Scandinavians have no concept of “awkward silence”.
If a Scandinavian has nothing to say, they will say nothing. It wouldn’t occur to them to make “small talk” or to talk about some trivial thing to break the silence. I was chatting with a guy once, and when I paused to give him a chance to speak, he asked me, “Do you Americans ever shut up?” © Francis Vincent / Quora
Although Scandinavians are often unhappy with their weather, they genuinely enjoy their lives. And we can learn some things from them.
Yeah! Only bicycles and electric cars! And sometimes pogo sticks.
No normal 8-yr old wants to watch electric cars race.
Wait, who's been brainwashed?
Here, we get the opposite- unreasonably low pay, massive overtime and excessive work loads, little to no paid leave, poor benefits and the worst healthcare system in the world. Not to mention over-taxation and over-inflated insurance costs. Most people barely make enough to get by, and spend their days toiling to make their bosses and corporations (that don't give a hoot about their employees) rich.
I think we've earned the right to complain...
Norwegians get massive wages too. But it balances out. Stuff IS expensive. Mind you, the Social Wealth Fund is only worth $1 trillion, or $250,000 per citizen.
Also, discipline is necessary in child rearing. It helps teach right from wrong, responsibility, and how to treat other people with respect. An issue that's way out of control in today's culture of entitlement.

I was thinking the same thing. Is there a place where the foundation is laid to match the grade of the hill? It must be tough to keep the cement from flowing downhill as it’s poured.
