Best tip... don't take anything creamy that you can pick up at a corner store for cheap (creams, toothpaste, soap) most are provided at hotels, family or friends homes. Saves a lot of hassles at TSA

Another really good tip... make a list and pack only personal things you used the 7 days prior to the trip. Nail clippers, meds. If you haven't used it recently you won't need it.

Pack a single extra outfit in your carry-on or backpack in an easy to describe pocket. So if you need to change clothes after an accident you can send help for it. Saved my dignity when I had explosive food poisoning on a plane... that's also how you get your own plane bathroom the entire trip.
