In picture #41 are his fingers exposed to the atmosphere? It looks like that boiling water is landing on his fingers. Wouldn’t his skin and blood be affected by the pressure?

In picture #41 are his fingers exposed to the atmosphere? It looks like that boiling water is landing on his fingers. Wouldn’t his skin and blood be affected by the pressure?
I think that his fingers are not exposed and that he wears tight gloves. At this pressure water boils at room temperature and doesn't make any harm.
