#18 is more than well deserved:

• in alpine areas, we don't use your foot fetish but the metric system.

• 3000 ft are 914 m. That's nothing "alpine", but a hill like e.g. the "Schauinsland" or the "Feldberg".

• if you want to go fishing without a fishing licence, a destroyed fishing equipment is the best and cheapest, that could happen.
This is not the US, where everybody can harm the nature as they like it.

Hubert,
clearly your country did not teach critical thinking or concepts in your education. He said he Hiked 3000ft, on a alpine. not that the actual alpine was that high. And what does that have to do with fishing? is fishing illegal where you live because of the climate changes??

Evelyn,
well, I live in one of the 6 countries that are touching the Alpes.
Let's get it straight: To be in an alpine area requires to be in the Alpes and nowhere else.
We have a free education system, that allows young people to start a job without depts.
I suppose that critical thinking in your country means, that it is ok to declare an election as a fraud or stolen and that gives you the right to siege a governement building and hoping to get away without any penealty.
And whatever you mean by "concepts" - I think, we have it.

Just to be sure: Even if the hike was 914 m in the Alpes, that would not have been a hike but a 15 minutes walk.

In every country in the Alpes, you need a fishing license, if you want to catch a fish.

I don't understand the silly question with the climatic changes, but I suppose, that you live in a country with increasing Hurricanes, draughts, floodings, wildfires and poisoned fish. Call it, whatever you want and search the reason for that in Bill Gates appetite for babies (or any other similar silly fuss).
So, stay in your bubble amd have fun...

Hubert, your free education system apparently left you in an idiotic condition.

Hubert,

Well, you addressed everything but why you made the assumption he did not have a fishing license. Nothing in the post implies such, so I think it's just because you immediately think the worst of everyone, and I believe the elements of your diatribe support that. On the up side, it looks like when the troll under the bridge dies, we have a spare.

Hubert,"Alpine" refers to high mountains. Yes, it has its origins in regard to the Alps but it has broader meaning. I realize that some Swiss like to think of themselves as superior to everyone else but few outside of Switzerland agree with them. Oh my, did the writer dare to reference Imperial measurements rather than your sacred metric system! You probably pride yourself in speaking more than one language but you can not tolerate more than one system of measuring. Poor boy.
